7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media is a non-profit organization that advocates for Palestinian digital rights. 7amleh’s mission is to create a safe, fair and free digital space for Palestinians. 7amleh studies and researches issues related to Palestinian digital rights, provides digital rights, digital activism and digital security capacity building opportunities to Palestinian activists and civil society, and manages local and international advocacy campaigns.

7amleh’s projects and initiatives are a part of the following programmes:

1. Research & Monitoring: 7amleh researches and monitors issues related to Palestinian digital activism, with a focus on the right to access the Internet and digital markets, the right to privacy, freedom of expression and association online.

2. Training: 7amleh builds the capacity of activists, human rights defenders, civil society organizations and Palestinian popular movements to provide training about digital rights, gender sensitive digital security, digital campaigning and how to improve their online presence.

3. Advocacy & Campaigning: 7amleh advocates for changes to the policies and practices of governments, corporations and other influential institutions and individuals locally, regionally and internationally. 7amleh plans and manages advocacy and awareness raising campaigns and builds networks and coalitions locally, regionally and internationally to influence digital rights related policies that ensure that Palestinians have access to safe, fair and free space online.

About PDAF:

7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media started the Palestine Digital Activism Forum fin 2017 and has becomes one of the pillars of 7amleh’s annual programming. The PDAF aims to:

-Provide a platform to discuss the challenges that Palestinians face the Palestinian civil society to protect Palestinian digital rights and digital activists working on the Palestinian cause in a positive and constructive manner.


-Provide a space for exchanging social media experiences and expertise in order to develop social media activism inside and outside Palestine and to develop strategies to address the serious challenges and threats faced by digital activists.


-Link the work of local organizations and movements with international counterparts to exchange experiences and to find solutions to the dilemmas they face and ways to cooperate and coordinate actions.
