Gun Peggy Knudsen is Deputy Director General at The Norwegian Institute of Public Health. She is a geneticist with a PhD in epigenetics and has experience from research activities within psychiatric genetics, has been Department director and Executive Director of the division of Health Data and Digitalisation at the institute. Knudsen has extensive experience from management of health registries, health data, cohorts, biobanks and from digitalisation activities. She is deeply involved in GDPR and information security related issues. Since the beginning of the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic she has been part of the crisis management at the institute, and was responsible for the project developing digital contact tracing, with a in house early version launched spring 2020, and a new version based on the Google and Apple framework launched December 2020, currently available and in use as an app; “Smittestopp”.
